Acclaimed Children's Author of Picture Books, Chapter Books, and Comics

Hi.  I'm Marcie.

I may have been named after the girl who called everyone "Sir" in the iconic comic strip, Peanuts, but I can relate more to Frieda who constantly reminded us that she had "naturally curly hair". After all, that is how I am most recognized.

In previous chapters I've been a teacher, an actress, and a nanny, but now I spend my days writing children's books!

I enjoy reading, playing my guitar and ukulele, running, watching baseball, and eating ice cream--
not all at the same time! But I'm not known to turn down a challenge.

Although I will always be a Brooklynite at heart, I now live with my husband--LEGO artist, Jonathan Lopes--and a beloved herd of stuffed animals in San Diego, California.
