Acclaimed Children's Author of Picture Books, Chapter Books, and Comics
Hi. I'm Marcie.I may have been named after the girl who called everyone "Sir" in the iconic comic strip, Peanuts, but I can relate more to Frieda who constantly reminded us that she had "naturally curly hair". After all, that is how I am most recognized.
In previous chapters I've been a teacher, an actress, and a nanny, but now I spend my days writing children's books! I enjoy reading, playing my guitar and ukulele, running, watching baseball, and eating ice cream-- not all at the same time! But I'm not known to turn down a challenge. Although I will always be a Brooklynite at heart, I now live with my husband--LEGO artist, Jonathan Lopes--and a beloved herd of stuffed animals in San Diego, California. |
